Enhance Your Brotato Experience with Fabris-Optimizations

Are you finding your Brotato runs marred by frustrating lag spikes, particularly during critical moments? The Fabris-Optimizations mod aims to smooth out your gameplay by tackling some of the performance bottlenecks that can occur, especially in the later stages of a run.

Addressing Performance Issues

This mod specifically targets lag that can manifest when interacting with certain game menus. Whether it’s the sudden pause when hitting the escape key or the transition into the shop after a level-up, these moments can often lead to noticeable stuttering. Fabris-Optimizations seeks to alleviate these performance dips, allowing for a more fluid and responsive gaming session.

Inventory Management Solution

One of the key areas addressed by this mod is the display of your inventory. In certain situations within Brotato, the game may re-render the entire inventory each time it’s accessed. This can lead to significant performance strain, especially when you’ve accumulated a large number of items. Fabris-Optimizations introduces a clever workaround:

  • Instead of displaying all items at once, the mod will show a limited selection (around 30-40 items).
  • Any remaining items will be indicated with a “+x more” notation.
  • While not all items are visually present, they remain functionally available in your inventory.
  • This approach significantly reduces the processing load, preventing the extreme stuttering previously associated with a full inventory display.

A Practical Hotfix for Late-Game Runs

The creator of Fabris-Optimizations acknowledges that this solution comes with a trade-off – the inability to view your entire item list at a glance. However, for players deep into lengthy runs where performance is paramount, this mod offers a valuable way to maintain a smoother experience. It’s presented as a practical hotfix to help mitigate performance issues until potential native solutions are implemented.

Please note that this mod was developed with the current beta branch of Brotato in mind. While it may function on other versions, stability is not guaranteed outside of the beta environment.
